Mayim Bialik
Mayim Bialik is a former child star who played the title character on the TV show Blossom. Blossom was a sitcom that originally aired on NBC from 1991-1995. Blossom was the only girl in the Russo family on the show. The show centered on Blossom's whiny exploits throughout high school as she discovered boys and came of age.
I was not a fan of Blossom. I personally thought that the show sucked, although I will admit that it was fairly popular and I did watch it a few times when there was nothing else on. I personally never thought that Bialik was attractive. She had nice hair, but she was certainly not a heartthrob. However, she was presentable enough for Blossom to last on NBC for four full seasons.
Some girls are unattractive in their youths and later mature into good-looking babes. Other girls have exactly the opposite experience - morphing from good-looking youths into ugly adults. Bialik does not fall into either of these categories - she was certainly not a hot babe as a youth and her barely presentable looks have completely faded over the 12 years since Blossom went off the air. I saw Bialik on an E! True Hollywood Story last year and was shocked when I saw her. She is really bloated and appears to have gained about 50-75 pounds, making her look almost like a mirror image of a tubby Dennis Haskins. Bialik's career is pretty washed-up at this point. Nobody wants to hire an obese and unattractive actress to star in a TV show or movie. The only roles being offered to Bialik are for playing fat people, such as her recent role on the TV show Fat Actress that was watched by about three people nationwide before it was cancelled. All of this makes Mayim Bialik one washed-up celebrity!

The paparazzi over at TMZ.com posted this recent picture of Bialik on their website. The ironic thing is that, as pointed out in a comment on the TMZ page, Bialik appears to be wearing dog tags!

Just because she's not had countless Botox injections, plastic surgery ops, Zepellin sized breast implants and doesn't have a face plastered with makeup doesn't mean she's a loser. As someone else on here commented, she had major success in a hugely successful TV sitcom and appeared in movies, has a happy marriage with two healthy kids and apparently is super-intelligent, so who are the losers here?? She has accomplished more in her life than most of us ever will. She is a wonderful mother, and a gentle hearted soul who does so much in her community. I applaud her and have tremendous respect for all she has accomplished in life.

I am a big Blossom fan, the topics really hit home. That show was one of the few shows that had a lot of serious plots. I loved the work everyone put in the show.

Mayim was the subject of the season opener to "What not to Wear." She has a completely new look. She's a hottie now. She has a tiny body, smaller than you would think in her old clothing as she was wearing stuff that was 2-3 sizes too big (from her two pregnancies). She also got a new hair cut and a fresh make-up look.
Go Mayam! She's slowly getting back into acting, and she'll be appearing in a few episodes of "Saving Grace" in July.
From watching the show, she is funny as hell, very articulate, smart as hell, and nicely quirky. No wonder her husband married her.
I just seen her in a new episode of "What not to wear" because she dresses like a homeless bag lady. When they got her in form fitting clothes I was amazed how thin she was. Although after they did her hair and makeup she was still a bit on the fugly side.

Mayim is a talented highly intelligent young woman who has achieved a great deal in her life. As a busy mother, student, wife, she did let her "style" go, but she is also dressing very conservatively because she is an orthodox Jew. She is totally admirable for her achievements and her good sense. Those immature boys, who seem never to have advanced beyond 7th grade are apparently incapable of recognizing anything as admirable beyond pysical attractiveness. I don't care if my doctor is pretty, just whether he or she is smart!
I never saw Blossom, that type of show never appealed to me. However, I recently saw Mayim on What Not to Wear and was very impressed at what how intelligent and charismatic a person she is. Whittly, intelligent, funny and totally unpretentious. It's no wonder how she got a TV show even though she's noty a self absorbed hollywood "hottie".
