Steven Seagal

Steven Seagal, born April 10, 1951, is an action movie actor best known for his unique brand of martial arts used in his films. Seagal is a 7th-dan black belt in aikido and as a young adult was an aikido instructor in Japan before moving to Los Angeles, California at which point he was noticed by entertainment executives who gave him his first movie role in Above The Law in 1988.

Seagal played a Chicago cop investigating a drug ring in Above The Law. The film was a moderate success, bringing in $18 million in box office receipts in the U.S. Seagal later acted in other successful action flicks as a tough guy cop, including Hard To Kill and Out For Justice. Out For Justice includes one of Seagal's most famous scenes, where he shows up at a bar frequented by low life criminals and proceeds to beat up about 15 of them without the use of a gun. Instead, he uses his fists, pool cues, and a billiard ball to put the hurt on the bad guys who generally only attack him one-at-a-time. In his most famous line in the movie, he keeps asking, "Anybody seen Richie?" to the bar's criminal patrons as he searches for Richie Madano, a violent drug dealer.

Seagal parlayed these roles in late-1980s to early-1990s action movies into a starring role as a former Navy SEAL who stops a group of mercenaries on a U.S. Navy battleship in the 1992 blockbuster, Under Siege, a movie that brought in over $156 million in worldwide box office receipts.

Under Siege was released at the pinnacle of Seagal's career. He was a popular movie star known for his long hair/mullet and his calm and relaxed demeanor he displayed while engaging in fighting scenes. He was in great physical shape at this time and was somewhat of an unconventional sex symbol, as evidenced by his then marriage to the supermodel Kelly LeBrock.

Unfortunately for Seagal, his career collapsed during the mid-1990s and has yet to recover. One of Seagal's problems is that he was typecast and generally played the same type of characters in all of his movies - his characters were typically brooding tough cops or engaged in some other kind of law enforcement. Seagal also fell victim to gluttony, seemingly eating every piece of greasy food in sight. Seagal must have gained close to 100 lbs of fat since the mid-1990s and is practically unrecognizable now. He is obese and his abuse of fatty foods in reminsecent of that of fellow washed-up celebrity Dennis Haskins.

Reports have also surfaced that Seagal has been rough on stuntmen. During the filming of 2001's Exit Wounds, he injured a number of stuntmen and his co-star, DMX. According to Steven Quadros, a fight trainer, Seagal has been known to "kick guys in the nuts to see if they were wearing cups." Seagal was also at the center of an incident in which stuntman and judo master Gene Lebell confronted Seagal over this abuse of stuntmen and reportedly put Seagal into a Shime-Waza (i.e., "sleeper") hold, choking Seagal unconscious.

Seagal also allegedly has ties to the Mafia. The Italain Mafia apparently wanted to finance several action movies in which Seagal was to star. When Seagal informed the mobsters that he didn't want to act in these action movies, the mobsters paid Seagal a visit during a shakedown in which Seagal was "petrified," and probably came close to crapping his pants (and understandibly so).

Seagal was eager to cover up his relationship with the mafia and hired disgraced Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pelicano to thwart an Los Angeles Times expose on his ties to the Mafia. A Los Angeles Times reporter, Anita Busch, found a dead fish with a rose in its mouth on her punctured windshield. A note found under the fish said, "STOP!" Alexander Proctor, an ex-con, told an informant that he'd been hired by Pelicano on behalf of Seagal. Seagal later denied any involvement in this incident when he testified at a trial on one of the mobsters in 2003.

Seagal's career is now in the toilet. Unbeknownst to the general public, he has apparently continued acting over the past few years. However, almost all of his movies now go straight to video. For this and the other reasons discussed above, Steven Seagal is one washed up celebrity!

Update - June 24, 2007

Here is a clip of Seagal's great fight scene from Out For Justice that I discovered on YouTube:

Update - August 19, 2007

Seagal blames the FBI for his washed up career
and believes that allegedly false allegations by FBI agents beginning in 2002 ruined his career. Seagal told the Los Angeles Times, "False FBI accusations fueled thousands of articles saying that I terrorize journalists and associate with the Mafia. These kinds of inflammatory allegations scare studio heads and independent producers -- and kill careers." Seagal also demanded an apology from the FBI.

It's funny that Seagal is blaming his woes on the FBI. He's been washed up since the mid-late 1990s and became obese long before the FBI made any statements, true or false, about him. Seagal's recent whiney claims help prove, beyond any reasonable doubt, that he definitely washed up!

  1. I heard that Segal lied about his martial arts training and a lot of other things in his life. I wonder if he lied about being a heterosexual and in fact partook in the sexual shenanigans of the rowdy Saved by the Bell set but silenced the other participants using his Mafia connections.

  2. He always was creepy to me, but an obese Steven Seagal is even creepier. I always wondered why people loved him so much. He may have been a decent martial artist, but he was one sucky, ugly actor. Glad he is washed up....

  3. Hey - I'd love to see some posts about the Step by Step cast...like what happened to Stacey Keenan..she was Hot! And didnt that Brandon kid get shot or something? My sis loved him - he was so ugly...

And, not to be mean, but I wonder what happened to Lindsay Ridgeway - little awful actress on Boy Meets World? she was awful - horrible to say about a kid, but one of the worst ever.

  4. I dunno...those recent photos are pretty goddamn sexy...I can just picture myself jamming my rock-hard cock into one of his many rolls of flab, and just grinding away until I unload my birthjuice on his moobs.

Don't forget the nerdy kid. I'm curious to know if he still looks like a nerd; I can't find any pictures anywhere. The kid that played Brendan is now supposedly a nightclub bouncer; clicking on my name will send you to a more recent picture.

  6. ok some of the comments on this blog are creepier than the cute kid actors, who never grew, lost their hair and became obese porn stars.

How about a blog on Brian and Scott Bloom?

  7. I think I watched Step By Step maybe one time. However, I do know that several currently washed up actors were on that show. I'll eventually get around to them. I didn't even know who Stephen Geoffreys was until someone asked for a profile on him, but he turned out to be one of the most washed up celebrities I;ve come across.

I don't know Brian and Scott Bloom. Have they done anything worthy of derision lately?

  8. Brian Bloom although maybe 'washed up' has not resorted to Porn, but has not had many acting jobs since his days of winning his daytime emmy and dating Alyssa Milano. There are so many more deservingly washed up actors for your blog - he's just a cute guy who can't act. Dang...Segal is a chunker...

  9. Time to add Jean Claude Van Damme to this blog. He's pretty washed-up too.

  10. i was truly bummed that i was unable to find video on youtube to post here of seagal's brilliant interview with arsenio hall, in which is insisted that aids was created by the government to destroy the ghetto. for someone who i'd disregarded as a boneheaded martial artist with a faggy voice, his decision to put forward this unpopular, far out opinion on national television made me respect him in a way i'd have found unimaginable before.

  11. The rumours about him and Gene LeBell have been floating around for a long, long time. It has picked up alot of embellishments along the way. LeBelle on his website, denied it, and said he has a lot of respect for Seagal. This story came out at a time where Seagal's carer was at it's peek, so people were trying to find anything to write about him. Seagal, I believe just let the stardom get to him. In the late 90s he went for spiritual healing in Tibet, and came out a better man. His music career is still kicking. :D

As of 2009, Steven Seagal hosts a show called Steven Seagal lawman which is referring to his job that he's been doing for 20 years working for the police academy in the Louisiana territory busting low lifes for criminal activity and how he trains his dogs how to protect the families. When I watched the show, I was amazed when he was padding down bad criminals from head to toe for drugs, weapons, and stolen money. I was surprised one of the suspects recognized Steven Seagals appearance and they were shocked to see him join the police force and I'm also surprised that they recognized his face.Ever since his limelight faded away, I think he's kind of recognizable to see out in public but most of the time he's not recognizable to look at ever since started to look like an old fat grandpa. The Show currently airs only on A&E. He lives in Los Angeles, California.

  19. I knew some very serious martial arts guys back in the early 90's and they swore that Seagal was the real deal. These guys were no joke. HUGE freaking muscled bad asses who could kill a person with one blow. Not joking (at all). Seagal may have let himself go, but at one time he was the real deal.

I'm sorry but if they had "HUGE muscles" then they don't know what thay are doing. Why? Huge muscles restrict body movement which would hamper their martial arts ability. FYI

  21. Segal is a Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Department just over the bridge from New Orleans. He DOES fit the whole Fat Barney Cop thing in his uniform. He is also being sued for killing some guys dog in Arizona when he drove an armoured personel carrier through the walls of some guys house during a Raid that was looking for Cock Fights. It was one of these Reality Shows where he was guesting as some sort odf a hot shot deputy. I did speak with him while I was in Lock Up at the OPP (Orleans Parish Prison)but he's a Deputy now. Find the link on the lawsuit thing. He apparently killed one of this guys puppies jerking around and tring to play the tough guy in the Militayr Vehicle.

  23. I was the same size of Seagal in the early 90's. We were minding our business on Bourbon St. during Mardi Gras. He intentionally jabbed me in the ribs while passing with his elbow. He is in fact, a douche bag.

I sprayed him with beer later at a parade. His local connections were not as strong as he thought....

  24. I recently read that Segal hired a woman to be his personal assistant, which she thought was running errands and keyboarding, but instead forced her to be a sex slave. Kelly LeBrock said she wasn't surprised when she read that charge and she will be releasing a book which reveals some of his secrets she learned while they were married.
